i want to dread my hair. i have thought about it for years and i am now seriously considering it. i don't want to look dirty or trendy however, so i want to know what everyone thinks

my friend has dreads and their AWESOME! He's a guy, But i've seen it look decent before on girls, of course i think the one i remember was in a heavy metal band, but hey.. and since your hair is short, you might want to just let it get long and do it

as for the dreads, do it. they won't stick up after awhile.

woo! i'm so excited for my dreads now. i read that as long as you don't hold them to a 90 degree angle to your head when you're making them, they won't stick straight out.
