Y'know, when one of the middle images loaded before any of the others, I thought, "oh my god, Clare squeezed herself into the dress meant for her four-year-old self!". Then I realized it was Zara. And that Zara is pretty damn tall, in that dress meant for a four-year-old.

My point is (even though it's not entirely evident at this point) is that I absolutely love this set! And that what Justin told me about the black sheet makes sense now. And that one say, I will have a giant print of Zara in a creepy mask, sans limbs, hanging in my house. I really will.

If I could I would!
I always dream I'm reliving childhood when I stick Zara in that dress.. it totally brings me back to a simpler time! Zara's long legs + short dress = extra long looking body

Thank you! ♥
The black sheet isn't fully black from some angles so I had to use some sneaky tricks to make it look like it was.. ha!

Yes. Yes you will.

I meant to ask you -- were those on film or digital? Initially, I was thinking film. And I marveled at how you actually managed to get the effects. Then after you mentioned "sneaky tricks", I'm thinking it might be digital, enhanced in Adobe. So tell me already! Don't make me have to not sleep tonight!! (I ask, also 'cause if I do want to eventually make a print of that [and have you imprint your John Hancock!], it'd be way better if it were film, of course!)

Notice how when we were little, Mummy put us in dresses quite a bit -- on special occassions particularly. And I'm talking nice dresses, not play dresses. And Zara doesn't wear these nice dresses. And yes, I know where this particular dress came from. Then again, it was the 80s, so I don't entirely slight it for being a bit frillified tacky.

I shot on both film and digital. The first picture (the 3 of Zara) were done by digital. And then the rest 6 were film and I went into the darkroom to burn in the background to make it ultra dark. But I could only do so much. So I brought them into PS and made the blacks really black. And then I printed them off.. because the teacher actually gave the option to shoot digital. And I figured I'd do both. Voila.

I hope you can sleep tonight!!

Yes! I always thought it was very fun to dress up and all. During my birthday dinner I was telling Zara how I had a water drinking competition with our cousins and I drank till I threw up on the nice blue carpet (remember that?)! I remember that night I wore this sailor-y dress with this inner lining that was like a swimsuit. I swear, I felt so pretty that night!

Zara doesn't dress up nearly as much.. so she's totally missing out! I'm just glad that she's been more than happy to be put into that dress when I want her to be! It's so party-like but I love it so much.. childhood souvernir :)

Oh Jenny, thank you as always ♥
I actually haven't watched "The Dreamers" in its entirety.. that part of the movie just stood out so much in my mind.

It's funny, I think this is one of the few pieces that I've made that I've actually put quite a bit of thinking into :) Thank you sweetheart ♥
