However, when she was put down she tried to wriggle up to see if he'd remembered her usual issues of being taken down. And, really, she was a bit relieved that he'd remembered, settling down to blankly stare at him until her vision came back to the clear state she was used to.
"I don't want to rest," she muttered, blunt and to the point as usual.

And he simply decided to slide under the covers with her. He was tired too, honestly. And any concerns that his motives weren't to calm her down should have been quelled by the sincere look of extreme concern on his face. He knew it was better to have someone to hold onto, at least. If she felt the need, he was already there.
"I know how on-edge you can get when you haven't slept. Have you gotten a good meal lately, either?" He stroked her hair gently to soothe. "Rest comes first, though."
He winced, brushing her hair away from the place he struck. "I'm sorry I hit you. I really didn't want to, but things were getting dangerous. Are you all right?"

Pouting a bit at him she shifted around to latch onto his side, nuzzling into his neck with a tiny little whine. She missed the contact, to be perfectly frank, and it was such a beautiful thing to have back. Even if it was only going to be a temporary thing, o she had assumed.
"No worries, I'm a little dazed still, but it will fade in due time."

...And honestly? He didn't realize how tired he was until she held him like that, all tension seeming to melt away with it. So he clinged back a litte; what of it? He let out a small, contented sigh - or at least, as contented as was possible at that moment. Relieved to hear that she was all right, and that there were no hard feelings for what he did, he kissed her temple.
"I think we both needed this, honestly. I've slept, but not well. This is the first time I've felt anywhere near comfortable here."
