I have pink eye and it sucks. I have to cover the biggest volleyball game of the year tomorrow night and one of my eyelids looks HUGE. I mean I know i'm fat, but do my eyelids have to be fat too?

I hope your eye falls out.

Me too. At least I could cover that up with sunglasses or something. It is kind of hard to coverup bulging eyelids.

And then you could write all about it!

Sorry to hear about your eye. What volleyball game are you supposed to be covering? Men's or Women's? Indoor, I'm assuming? For what school's? Sorry this question sparked my interest out of a love for volleyball probably more than it should. I really do hope your eye improves, you should see about getting some medicated eye drops.

I will be covering girls volleyball for two local high schools. One is ranked #1, the other #3, and both are 8-1 in league play and this is the final game of the year. Winner takes all, winner takes #1 seed and a bye in the playoffs. It really couldn't get any bigger. And I just woke up, and it looks like someone punched me in the eye. There is no way anybody will want to talk to me with this thing. I am on my way to the college health center to see if they can do anything. Chances are they won't be able too.

hey, Matt. So, how'd the game turn out? Were you still able to report on it, or did everyone run away and not play when they saw your eye? haha. Seriously though, I hope your eye is getting better because pink eye really sucks. I coach a high school girl's freshman volleyball team (and also help out with coaching the varsity team) and they had their last game yesterday. The also played about the worst I've seen them play in there first game, the second went better, but they still lost. I had a team of 14 players, because the school didn't cut anyone, it was hard to get them all playing time while actually attempting to win. We only won 2 matches our entire season. I'm just hoping that the varsity does well in the state tourney which starts next week because I have to help out coaching them in preparation for it.

Do you play volleyball? Or just know enough about it to write about it?

The game turned out great. It was quite a match. The two rival schools know how to put on a game. The eye so far isn't getting much better, but it isn't getting much worse either, so that is good. Playoffs start Tuesday here and the same two teams, which will be ranked No. 1 and 2 will meet again, just like they have done for several years now in the playoffs. I never played volleyball, but I have reported on it 10+ times for my college who has a great team and a few times now for the local paper i write for.
