I've been quite horrendously busy recently, but I have managed to read a book here and there. According to my little list the last three things I actually finished were The Brooklyn Follies, Perfume, and The Worm Ourobouros.

Also, I had time to be in a bookstore today, if not to buy any books. Amongst things that I have not yet previously mentioned or recommended, "The Magicians" by Lev Grossman looks to be a winner. =)

Ta - I have been looking for a recommendation for the past few days to take away on my next work trip. Will be sure to try to find Grossman at the local sf/f specialty bookshop.

I would totally have bought it if I had the money, I put a library hold on it as soon as I got home, but I'm #20 in line so I may have finished it in bits and pieces over a month or two before my turn comes around. For anyone who was ever the smartest kid in their class or at least close to it, competitive, alienated or able to emphathize w/the alienated, good at test-taking . . . yeah. You should like.
