Piccies from holiday. Quite a few, really. Some from 2003, and some from 2004. (Behind an LJ-cut to save your Friends pages). Mostly of me, though there are a few of where we visited - some quite interesting buildings/cities.
2003
Foyer of the Grande Théatre, Bordeaux. I took a tour around this Opera House/Theatre, and it puts Covent Garden to shame.
Canoeing on the River Dronne at Brantome. I love canoeing - it's so much fun! Last year we did white-water rafting, which was even better!
Yup, more activity! Lol. (My boyfriend still doesn't believe I actually spent a good deal of my holiday doing sporty things. Lol). This is an assault course set entirely in the trees in Southern France. There were 4 levels. This pic shows level 2, I think, but I got up to level 4 (too high for any decent pics from there - I did try to find some). The only other people doing that level were two bodybuilders! Lol. I'm small, but I'm muscular.
Outside our cottage before we went for a meal. I don't know what I was thinking with that outfit! Lol. I've sent the top to a charity shop, but Ian insists I keep the skirt.
Another at our cottage, this time just before dinner. It's a bit blurry, I'm afraid. If you think my hair looks damp - it was! I'd just finished swimming a mile in our pool.
2004
Yup, another assault course. Told you I like having sporty holidays.
La Cité de Carcassone. If it looks familiar, that's because it was used as Nottingham Castle in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
In the grounds of the Chateau de Gruissan. Unsurprisingly, for once I couldn't go climbing the ruins (my other favourite way to spend holidays is looking round historical/religious ruins and stately homes) - stiletto heels + rocks = no-go zone. So I sat on a rock and carried on reading The Woman In White, which I highly recommend - it's a great book.
Having a meal at a disused railway station which has been converted into a posh restaurant. Me, with lil sis and Mum.
Montpellier, with Dad and lil sis.
Last one. Posted purely for the lolz. Gingham makes me look about 12, as you can see.
On a side note, interesting isn't it that the French have 2 words for "beautiful". One of which is far more commonly used that the other, and also happens to be a very well-known girl's name...
