Very cool! Yeah, I've heard the same thing about wandering authors defacing their own books. I am reminded by a 100 year old book collecting Edgar Allen Poe's writings that I bought: it had a pressed maple leaf and a newspaper clipping regarding the selling off of some of Poe's possessions, what few he had when he died.

On my trip to France in 2000, I found a signed copy of The Fionavar Tapestry by Guy Gavriel Kay in the terminal at Pearson Int'l Airport in Toronto.
