What color did you get? Red? Black?

Before I moved up to Boston for grad school, I got an Inspiron 1520. It is dark blue!

Of course we are!

I got lovely, simple black. Mostly because I got a refurbished Dell in order to get more awesomeness for less money.

I mean.. my hard drive is SIXTEEN TIMES BIGGER that my old one!

I have much downloading to do.

The Dell bus controllers use a proprietary sort of driver that's a pain to get if you've re-installed Windows on it, that's probably what's showing up. (The Dell default build has the drivers installed, but I'm not sure where to get them in the event of a "dowmgrade.")

Hm. For some of the problem drivers I was able to find them by looking at the Latitudes (which still often ship with XP).

I think my laptop has high speed USB capability and the missing driver is for those, sound likely?
