Is anyone else watching the United States of Tara on Showtime?

No because I find it offensive.

What about it do you find offensive?

Disassociative Personality Disorder is 99% of the time caused by intense, repeated child sexual abuse. It's not a joke; and it's an extremely painful disorder. I don't think it's appropriate to mock it. This show is only furthering incorrect and damaging ideas about mental illness.

At first I was thinking the same thing. Then I started watching the show. You have a woman that has did that cannot remember chunks of her life and what has really caused her to have DID, she's gone off her medicine to try to explore what is happening to her. It is light hearted at times but at other times its really sad and you see a character struggling to really understand what's happened to her ( ... )

I keep meaning to but I am afraid to start. For some reason I get every cable channel available. All the movies channels. Have been since I switched to digital cable a couple months ago from the standard analog...thing is, they aren't charging me so I'm waiting for them to catch it and take it.

I don't have HBO anymore and I started watching "True Blood" online and got hooked on that.

For the last two days, whenever I think of the term 'poncho goblin' I start to randomly giggle in my office at work.

I think you'll enjoy it. I mean, they laugh at themselves and the disease and the things that happen because of it, but at the core of the story is this family loves and accepts her and wants to help her get better.
