My Memorably Unmemorable Day

Nov 14, 2008 20:57

I had a mostly ordinary day today, yet ordinary at Lake Anne is not your run-of-the-mill ordinary. I was working at the postal counter, which has a tendency to act as a magnet for Crazy People. Very few crazies today, though, much to my disappointment (and relief).

Four things of note, however:

1) The cops and other uniformed people were out ( Read more... )

Fav album - Peter Murphy's Deep. The next ones are either Toad the Wet Sprocket's Fear or Dulcinea, I can't decide. The Bodeans Joe Dirt Car is in there as well (technically, it's 2 albums).

And what is it with people who are just stupid about knitting? People think you have some sort of magical talent if you can knit, even more so if you are working with dpns.

People ARE weird about knitting!!! I can't tell you how many people watch with rapt fascination as I knit. I think it's because people have become so dependent on technology that manually powered activities are a novelty. "What, you don't have to plug your knitting needles into a socket??? You must be a magician!!!"

So you knit too, then? Rock on!

I agree!! All the artists I know that try and sell their work are very grumbly over people who say "But I can buy one at Wal-Mart for $5." Grrr!!!

I'm addicted to knitting but woefully behind on projects which currently include a lot of unfinished socks.

Change of subject - I was at an 80s party last night and thought of you when Thriller was played. :)

We really need to get you another Freak Magnet shirt and go on another trip together sometime so we can see how many we still manage to attract.

Two of my favorite albums at least are Sarah McLachlan's Fumbling Towards Ecstacy and Pearl Jam's Ten.

I bet we attract even more now...we've had so many more years to develop our freak magnetism. ;)

Pearl Jam!!! Remember that infamous concert with your hubby, Amanda, Dan, and Peter the Freak (speaking of!)? I hope I'm not leaving anybody out...

Feli!

I know. It was really funny how I honestly didn't meet as many when I went to Britain with Meg.

Hehe, how can I ever forget? Remember when he ran into the Men's room? I think that is all who was at the concert, but I have a picture of the group just in case (it's at Mom's house still, though).
