I have come to the conclusion that I need a job. I have been really bored and started to add up how much money my Junior year is going to cost. There is no way I will be able to survive on my allowance next year.
Well, it's better to be aware of your financial situation than not. Getting a job would give you some extra moolah, and will hopefully (depending on the job) give you enough money stored away for your Junior year as well.
I've been thinking about jobs quite a bit too, but for now, I've decided against getting one. I never really spend my money, and I have a lot of things that I need to get done, so I figure I'll just wait until I have more of a need for it. (That's a bad way to think though, because it's always when you need it the most that you won't get it...)
I, too, have come to realize that I need a job. But for me, it isn't as simple as it may be for you, or Katie. Seeing as nobody wants to hire someone who is homeschooled. I've applied to the McDonalds on Auburn twice and they've turned me down both times only because I don't go to public school. I either have to be in or completely highschool, and have a diploma/GED. I guess they think that just because I don't go to a mainstream school, that I'm underqaulified to flip a burger or scrape the grease off of the floors in that place. It's bull. I hope that you do better than I did at the work hunting. If I had a car, I could get a job over at TIY ( Seeing as they have an open spot AND I have recommendations from two past employees and two that are currently working there, plus Camille said she'd give me one. )
The odds of me finding a job on the west side of Rockford are really slim. Living on the west side sucks. Everyone at Auburn lives on the east side and so almost everyone at Auburn has a job.
