It was a fun read! I feel like there was a lot of thought put into it, and the art was really nice too. =)

Ah, my DW is kikyo. x) I mentioned it somewhere back on my LJ, but I haven't updated here for a while, so I don't remember when!

Matsuda is great. I just love how he's so enthusiastic about everything, and seems to bungle everything up while at the same time being pretty solid all the way through in his convictions. I think he's one of the characters people can relate to the most in the book. (Since it's so full of geniuses and sociopaths that are kind of beyond my ken).

MK is out of hiatus now! Saiyuki Reload Blast recently started up again, and two chapters have been released so far. (Actually, it's 3, since the first installment also included a special chapter concluding the sky burial arc from before her hiatus).

xD Fangirling makes working a little easier, right?

And it's good to be around! <3

[lol. It's not a very big city, so that's quite possible!]

Sometimes I like the way they rename cards. My Connelly deck changed Death to "Transition", which to me is more meaningful. They also changed The Devil to "Materialism" which was kind of meh. (They left The Hanged Man alone, lol.)

I tried to get into Death Note, and just didn't like it - the anime, anyway.

Transition is a nice renaming. But yeah, I agree that materialism isn't quite the same thing. Devil can mean a lot of different things, and materialism is just one small part of it.

The anime might be harder to get into. I read the manga before I watched the episodes, so that gave it more context. I think there's so much material in the manga, it's hard to really transfer that to an anime without bogging it down too much..

I used to have an obsession with tarot cards, but I just did a cleaning and got rid of about 10 decks. TEN! And by "got rid of" I mean that I put them out in the recycling bin and tried not to feel bad about it. I still have my first deck that I bought back in 1987 or so. I'd like to get the Weiß tarot one day if I don't have to pay an arm and a leg to get the thing ( ... )

I can usually find a home for my unwanted decks by asking friends if they'd take it. I actually sent a deck to an LJ friend a while back. But I suppose sometimes, it's just better to make a clean break. I have about 20 decks, some that I think could use some gifting since I don't use them at all. For me though, it's not just the tarot aspect, but the cards themselves. Having been a YGO card collector (in a minor way, nothing excessive), I've always loved the look and feel of cards ( ... )

Do read Ooku if you get a chance. I love Yoshinaga Fumi manga, and particularly enjoyed Ooku. It's just a really interesting world.

I'm so behind on Saiyuki. I don't even know where I left off. D=
