Wow, that really sucks to have to return all the gifts. I think your plan this year is smart! No need for gift returning in whatever scenario then. If someone doesn't like their gift, do you have to buy them a new one? My family and I are often too lazy to give gifts, but we've been doing gift exchanges in recent years. I'm still not done with buying gifts yet!

That panda teapot set is adorable. <3 Your iPad case looks pretty awesome too!

I'm not bothering buying people new gifts! If I ever come to that point, I'll just say forget the gift giving thing altogether! (Which I've already been tempted to do anyway). We didn't used to give gifts either...I don't think so, anyway. I'm not sure why we started, since it gets more and more vexing every year.

And thanks! ♥

Don't get me started on a rant about functionality. That really frosts me.

Wow, I thought the Korean side of my family was bad about gifts. My dad was the worst person in the world to buy for. Making you return gifts yourself is pretty extreme -- that's what a gift receipt is for.

Your teapot is adorable! I like the cases you bought. Pretty and sleek.

Guh, I know! It's so ridiculous. I wonder if the people who design these new changes even USE the platform at all? It's so clear they have no clue how people interact with it.

Yeah, I agree. I think maybe I was made to return them since they had been ordered online and it would've been more of a hassle. (I imagine they have ways to return online purchases?) But I was still put off!

Thanks! I'm having fun using the pot. x)

I think everyone just jumped on the bandwagon with regards to design changes. Some people started praising the minimalistic and simple designs of, say, Apple's stuff and such. Then suddenly *everyone* decides to "simplify" or "update" their layouts and it's not necessarily a good thing either, I agree.

With LJ, I liked that the new Friends page layout allowed you to open "read more" links on the same page without getting redirected to the other person's LJ. BUT... I hated that the sidebar in my layout vanished. The sidebar had all my links to the comms I frequent (but don't necessarily follow) and made it easier for me to access them. I bore with it for a while but recently opted to switch back to the old style. haha

The whole thing about having to return all the gifts sounds awful. :( You can't be that bad, surely!

Yeah, and it's a little depressing when everything starts to look the same! I don't think I'd be complaining though, so long as they didn't take away functionality or the ability to customize.

The "read more" links are useful! But I wish they did it like in DW, where it's like an arrow that you can expand in the same page, so at least you have the option of clicking into the other person's LJ if you wanted to...But that's just a minor thing. I use my sidebar as well, though probably not as frequently. I hope the new layout, once they make it permanent, will have enough customizable features to make LJ tolerable.

Hehe. I really am that bad! And I think I already scored a doozy. One of the laptop bags I ordered arrived, and it's huge! A lot bigger than I thought, and it was final sale too, so unreturnable. Oh, well... xD;;;

I guess everyone wants to cash in on FB's success, but really, I think it's killing the platform and the loyalty of its longtime users. I wonder if they're even acquiring the new users they obviously are trying to attract...

Hee! Everyone should have a panda mug, right?

And glad mine got to you too! ♥

I don't like at all this LJ changes, but whatever. Someday I'll change journals, but really, I grew up with LJ, got used to the interface, it's gonna be difficult for me to learn a new blog style. >>;
I didn't change my photobucket so I'll get those problems later.

The teacup is so lovely!!
The ipad case looks so cool!! I don't have an ipad though. XD;;

And really YOU have to return the gift? Department stores like SEARS here have a gift voucher you pack with the gift and if they don't like it/change size/whatever they can do it themselves. >>;

Yeah...it's so hard to get up and move, you know? I'm like you, I've been here for years. Even though I don't use it as much as I used to, I find it hard to just get up and move.

Thanks! xD The iPad has been a lot of fun! I didn't think I needed one, but I find myself glued to it on my days off.

Yeah, I guess that's the thing...most of my gifts were bought online. I think those come with gift return slips too, but no one wanted to bother repackaging and shipping back. Too much hassle!
