I think my soul is antiquated. (Totally emo, right?) I had more fun making cookies today than I have in all of grad school combined. Any desire I have for a career is just to have a more comfortable family life. I'd be perfectly happy as a housewife if anybody could afford to live that way anymore. (Alas.) There is no reason to feel bad for desiring *any* of those things--I do hope my recent wedding blog post hasn't made you feel badly for wanting those things because I promise it was not meant to suggest that those with different feelings from myself are in any way wrong. (Always keep in mind that my blog's framework rests on how a female INTJ views the world... I don't feel comfortable with many domestic female things and it helps for me to have an outlet... Think of it from an OU-perspective. I'm just establishing a counter-narrative of the self...of sorts. If I were to police my postings too much, I wouldn't be fulfilling the purpose of the blog.)

Provided that I am able to taste those baked goods once in awhile, keep on bakin'!

(I too feel good after cleaning, but I think that's just the OCD!) :)

A couple things did strike me as bit dismissive, but I could be overly sensitive. I feel like I keep encountering "tradition is dumb" type sentiments. I promise you disliking flowers was the least bothersome of the 4 or 5 hundred random remarks I've passed. I apologizing for venting at you. I guess with things as freaskishly personal as weddings, families, etc, i feel that people should be careful to express sentiments in a way that's doesn't seem to knock what others want. I just think you never know what the girl sitting across the table wants and out of respect it just seems easier to say "such-and-such isn't for me," rather than "that's for stupid old fashioned girls."
