It's never good when companies focus on the negative in turn-down communications. It really wouldn't help them to spend a moment considering the feelings of the candidates :(
WRT Odyssey - I am having similar fears, over having played politics *really very hard* (with your help, in fact!) only to be faced with a seriously low turnout for the next event, just when we need to look strong. You have all my empathy - recruitment for Odyssey is really hard, as there seems to be a lack of new players coming in meaning everyone has to rely on natural wastage in other groups and picking up players piecemeal at events. And of course, that has it's own problems as people naturally seem to gravitate towards whoever is looking big/ successful at the time, to taste the high-profile... ack.

On Odyssey - my sympathies. My group dwindled down quite a lot, our low point was 3 people this time last year. It is possible to still make an impact, but it certainly dials it up to hard mode. :/
