Apparently I am in full-on procrastination mode, because I just wrote 500+ words of ficlet for estrella30's kissing day. This is more fiction than I've written in a ridiculously long time.

I am reproducing it here, just to have a record. I know Spin the Bottle's cliche, but it was damn fun to write anyway.

I like Jess being all confident and forward like that, and Sam being all nervous and frozen -- until suddenly he wasn't any more. It fits in well with the way we've seen him with Sarah and Madison.

Upon rewatching the pilot, Jess struck me as someone who was perfectly aware of her own smoking-hotness, but who generally used her powers only for good. *grin* And acquiring Sam certainly seems like a good deed to me... Especially as one can only assume he was just as awkward with girls when younger.

Oh, that's nice! I like this notion that Jess would be bold and Sam would be nervous until he was actually touched by her. Then, he goes for it. Awesome. :)

Aw, I'm such a sap for any kind of Sam/Jess, and this was just cute. I've always liked the idea of Jess being the one to initiate things with Sam.

I feel like pre-series Sam/Jess has a lot potential for cuteness and distinct lack of angst... more than most of the Supernatural world pairings, anyway. Which is not to say I don't like angst! And it definitely can include angst. But sometimes a little pure sweetness is nice.

Eeeeeeeeee, this is lovely! I love how shy and nervous Sam is and then the moment where he just snaps and goes for it. Oh, Sam. Very hot, too. And then a gorgeous ending - of course they know each other's names. Awwwwwwww.

Oh, thank you so, so much for the wonderful comment! I had a lot of fun writing Sam, here. It's funny, I'm a Dean girl at heart but I think I'm probably much more like Sam personality-wise, so getting into his head seems a bit smoother...
