Three little words

Why do I find it so hard to say "I love you"? Even to my sister, or my 3-yr-old niece? Why do I feel it needs to be saved somehow, or only to a very special person? How is it that I could barely say it to my old boyfriend, John, when we were together for 7+ yrs? Does anyone else have this issue?

yes, I am one who has to remind myself "hey Lisa, this is your daughter, it's ok to give love". And sometimes I have to really think "out of my box" to do it- like I'm not "wired" in the brain to do so. I know it seems like it should be natural but to some of us it is not. It doesn't mean flaw, more of just part of our character/personality.
