Halloween

Halloween- like they say in "Mean Girls" it's the one time of year when girls can dress up like total sluts. Now that I'm an adult, the costumes are sexier, smarter, and cost more.

I was at a party on Sat night. It was a fundraiser for the non-profit I work at, so I was doing coat check. They had decided to place the coat check in the stupidest location possible- the main corridor connecting the 2 sides of the party. So basically there were people walking through, people deciding to go into their own coats to get their smokes or whatever, it could have been a disaster. We managed to keep control though. There were 4 of us, and I think we did a pretty good job (except for one girl, who really didn't seem to care). She even left the cash box, with 50-dollar bills ON TOP, open, right next to the door. She took up space next to the desk, that was about it.

I got rid of all my halloween-y stuff when I moved, so I wore a pair of pink devil horns from the dollar store, a thin pink boa, and borrowed a tutu from my neice. It's pretty much like this skirt:

And yes, I did borrow this from my 3-yr-old neice, which is kind of weird. It is obviously a very stretchy skirt! I wore black tights and a 3/4 sleeve, fitted top with it. Apparently, I looked "classy"! OK then! A pink devil ballerina. :)

I also realized something. When I am attracted to men, I am attracted to older men. When I am attracted to women, I am attracted to younger women.

There's a guy here- I think he's really beautiful, but he is also taken, which is great. It's not like I'm desparate if I'm around him or anything. He obviously wanted to talk to me at the party, but I was really busy with security. He sent me a facebook message that he wants to go hiking.

Here's the thing- I think men who I am interested in are always pretty sure that I am NOT, because they're often 15-20 yrs older than me. Guys my age are often pretty forward about flirting. I like to flirt back, which is fun. Women just don't flirt with me unless they start figuring it out. I'm pretty straight-looking, but I think some people pick it up in my voice or mannerisms. Or just the fact that I'm tomboyish.

What did you go as for halloween?
