So if I ever win the lottery, or just have a bunch of money at my disposal, I would love to do something like this

I would love to do something like that. My problem would be lack of social skills - it seems you must be willing to just talk to lots of random people to make the most of your adventure and I would be way too shy. I would just get a massive loan to fund the trip and then pay it off later.
