that I nearly paid $78.50 for the chance to see Explosions in the Sky but decided against it for two reasons: too expensive and Smashing Pumpkins was the headliner. blech.

Or he'd cry and go swim laps... But then I'd just sit him down and show him some real music. Man, that would have saved me years of listening to shitty metal and convincing myself that I enjoyed it.

78.50 is a lot of cash. wait until they play some indie place and see em for 15 bucks :)

I was more excited about the fact that they were still together. I thought they had broken up years ago. I immediately reached for the wallet when I saw that they were playing. Then I saw SP headlining, had the bleh reaction, and then saw the price. They're from Texas. I doubt they tour much on their own.
