She can't remember when they first met. She figures it was a few years back in the back streets of Ba Sing Se. That's what he told her when she first woke up with a pounding headache a few months ago . She couldn't even remember her name back then.
He had told her many things in the months that followed. She realizes they might be lies but she has nothing else to go by. No friends, no memories, no family...What else could she do but trust him? He had seemed to be the only way to regain some sense of normality.
Her head still aches at times...
(What had really happened?)
He does seem to skip around the subject of 'the accident'. She had stopped asking him about it since he refused so many times before...
(His strong features hardened into a frown. Running a hand through her thick hair, he had murmured an excuse. She had sighed disappointment and pleasure as he started kissing her neck...)
She had stayed in this house for so long...She needs to move around more, however, he forbids it.
(“This is the Boulder's house, his word is law,” he told her, touching her shoulder ever so slightly as he left the house. To where he went to was a mystery...She had given another disappointed sigh as he left, eying the door.)
She could leave anytime she wants...although that would mean giving up the only place of safety she remembers. Could she afford that? She thought she couldn't so she wouldn't leave.
So she stays and waits. For him, for change, for anything at all.
When the young woman with golden eyes and a serpent-like demeanor showed up, she nearly jumped with excitement. “Why, Ty Lee,” the stranger said in a welcoming voice. “It's been a while hasn't it?”
A/N. Azula always seems to pop up when things are getting good. XD Anyways, I hope to write something more on this...The style of this drabble was influenced by the book version of "The Shining". Well...I think this might turn into a full fledged chapter fic if I let it...
