Stargate Atlantis: Coup D'etat Comments

I meant to do this sooner but I was to tired last night and then I was busy for most of today. Anyway here are my comments for the episode:

This was a very cool episode with lots of twists and turns and crazy stuff with great dialogue as well. I had a feeling they were being set up but it was still interesting trying to figured out what was really going on.

One thing I haven't figured out yet is if Elizabeth told John that the bodies they found weren't really Major Lorne and his team. When John sees Lorne in the cell he makes a comment about having thought Lorne was dead until right then. So either Weir didn't tell him for some reason or John just meant that even though he knew the bodies weren’t Lorne and his team he wasn't sure if they were still alive. The only reason I can think of for Weir not to have told John was, she wanted John to be focused on what was happening with the Genii and Landon, not on the investigation. Teyla and Ronon were already investigating what had happened so there wasn't really that much of a point in telling John yet.

Speaking of Teyla and Ronon, I really liked them in this episode because they actually had an important role this time, unlike most other episodes where they are usually pushed to the background. I thought the scene where Ronon was complaining that he and Teyla weren't included in the pictures was great. He was almost whining about it. :O)

I loved the raid on the compound. Weir really needs to stop saying yes to John and Rodney when they double team her in order to beg ask her for something, because they get into trouble every time. I loved how indulgent John was with Rodney during the raid. For example, the scene where he was talking about having stunned, or almost having stunned, someone. Rodney's attempt at using military signs/terms to say that there was one person in the room was great too, along with the look John gave him and then Rodney's, "what? Didn't I do it right?"

Unfortunately, it did end up being a trap, but hey they found Lorne! It's a very good thing that Landon's sister was with the group of sick people that went to Atlantis or else they'd all be dead now. Speaking of those people, why did they go to Atlantis? I must have missed that part of the plan…

All in all a great episode and I was very happy with it!
