Elizabeth avoided John's concerned gaze, shutting him out with her defensive body language.
With Wraith ships heading for Atlantis it wasn't the time to show emotion, she needed to be focused and organised.
Later when the threat was gone - she had to believe that would be the outcome - she could let go.
Let him hold her close in his arms; where she could enjoy the warmth of his body next to hers, inhale the sweet smell of his skin, feel his fingers gently stroking her hair.
Then and only then would she cry and mourn for her friend Peter Grodin
