"But…"John pouted, his fingers drumming the desk like an impatient toddler.
Elizabeth turned towards him, arms folded across her chest, her eyes steely with determination. "I said no!"
John tried his cutest smile, complete with his best puppy dog eyes.
Her face softened, it was hard to resist that combination. She moved closer and looked him straight in the eye "No, you can't use the gate as a goal in a soccer game!"
John knew that tone of voice really meant business.
He nodded, accepting defeat.
"Now go," she smiled, sorely tempted to smack his impertinent backside as he left.
