David's preferred time to run was after his shift, when the halls were quieter and the possibility of running over someone lesser, but he'd been kept in the infirmary for so long that he had to move. He'd nodded at people as he ran, and he had a feeling the Marines were tracking his progress, watching him. It made the hair at the back of his neck rise, but truthfully, he couldn't blame them. He'd never been one to harbor paranoia, but living in Pegasus was likely to get him started on it ( ... )

Sean smiled in return, glad David either hadn't caught or hadn't cared about his glance at the exposed midrift. "Funny running into you here," he agreed, then paused, a furrow forming between his eyebrows. There was something familiar about David and a balcony, but every time Sean tried to chase the memory, it raced further away. He shook his head a little and waved a hand. "They tell me I can't work, but everywhere I look, I'm surrounded by it. I might not be able to actively pursue work, but." He shrugged. "I'm surrounded by it." He glanced at David, forearms leaning on the railing, leaning forward. The position made the most of his back and rear. Sean dragged his wayward glance back to the vista before him. "It's amazing, and I'm itching to get back to work." He gave David a lopsided grin before looking back out over the city. "You, too, I imagine."

The breeze was cool and Sean hoped it did enough to cool his cheeks, which felt like they might be colored with a blush. Get a grip, Sean. You've been around someone you ( ... )

David clasped his hands loosely together, eyes skimming over the beautiful view of the city. God, it was simply incredible, and he never tired of looking at it.

"Yep. I honestly enjoy my work. Although it's nice to have some downtime, I don't like being forced into it. And I don't care for the circumstances that forced it on us." He rolled a shoulder in a shrug, then turned his head to look at Sean. His eyes moved over Sean's face, then skipped to the balcony where they stood. "Huh," he said, "Have we been here before? I didn't think that all the balconies looked alike, but maybe I'm wrong."

Sean looked over the balcony, the vista, and then back to David. "It...seems familiar, but..." He trailed off, trying once again to chase down the memory, and looked out again, eyes unfocusing. "But - wasn't it...night?" he asked, turning to look at David. He shook his head. "It's just out of reach. I don't get it. We haven't been here that long. I should remember but...do you think it has anything to do with Dr. Martins? Maybe he joined us, and that's why it's so fuzzy. Unless - do you remember?" He rubbed his jaw, frustrated and aware of David, a handsbreath away, a faint scent of his exertions underlying the metallic tang of the breeze. David's expression was solemn, his blue eyes clear and bright, and a part of Sean wasn't interested in chasing down memories any more. He cleared his throat, turning to lean on the railing, bringing his leg forward to partially hide his groin. He wasn't reacting, not yet, but he could feel his attraction to David, his blood wanting to heat, and he cursed himself as a fool for not ( ... )

"Mn. No, I don't remember, really. There's a...sort of feeling of dejá vu, but nothing concrete. I've never wholly discounted things like that, so maybe ( ... )
