I genuinely thought she might be able to make a difference, maybe place Pakistan in a slightly nicer light, because there's been a lot of mistrust generally, or at least over here there has.
Yep, she was shot and then blown up i belive. Talk about over kill. The suicide bomber was probably hired by Musharaff, and equiped and trained by the CIA. I know the Americans are looking to keep him in charge.
It sad to hear that she was assasinated. But i don't really think you can bring democracy to a place like Pakistan. *sigh*
Whilst I understand that democracy will probably never work in the Middle East, I really can't see why the Americans have any right to interfere. I know that he supposedly denounced terrorism and that's good for the rest of the world, but not if he can't make a difference, if he's just an American puppet then he won't have the support of his people and nothing will ever happen about anything. If that makes any sense.
Is it true that her father preceeded her in rallying for a democratic state and that he was assasinated too? I think I read that somewhere, so yes she was incredibly brave to follow in his footsteps and her son is going to take her place, I just hope the same thing doesn't happen to him.
