I had no idea about it. I'm sorry i missed it. Michael Portillo is one of the only tories/ex-tories i have any time for.

I've come to the conclusion that capital punishment should be an option for the worst crimes. (torture, multipul murder, sociopaths, terrorists, child killers) Although i can certainly see why the americans exercise capital punishment given that they have so many violent and extremley dangerous offenders. (did you see Louis Theroux in San Quentin on sunday?)

If we had it here i don't think it would get used much. I also think the electric chair is way to brutal. Leathal injection is probably as humane it gets. There should also definetly be criteria in terms of the evidence used to convict a person so there can't be any doubt if a person is guilty.

I usually avoid things the tories have to say, but I have to say, I didn't know he was a tory, but I wouldn't have suspected it.

I didn't see all of it, but my dad tells me that Louis Theroux is a f***ing idiot, personally I wouldn't want to go into a prison like that, but hey. I just found it funny though, the bit I saw was where he had to wear a stab vest to go into a cell with this gu who had 11 life sentences and 300 years or something. What got me about the prisoner was how he didn't seem to care that what he'd done was wrong. It made me want to bang my head against a wall when he was talking about torturing people he was robbing into telling him where stuff was. He was simply sick!!

Before I'd watched that program, I would've agreed with you, but aparently, there's a drug in the injection that paralyses the prisoner so that they can't scream and they're suggesting that it is painful...I never even thought about that.
