Bush

So he went ahead with the Bolton appointment. The only surprise I guess is that he waited until today. Imagine the mileage he could have gotten by doing it on the Sunday 'news' programs. Another 'in your eye' from the uniter, not a divider president.

I didn't say anything about Republican or Democrat ( in fact I have always been a Republican (moderate variety), but Bush and Santorum have signaled the end of my support for that party)
I think it's a bad appointment.

You got the part about being frustrated exactly right. I don't mean that I think the Democrats would do any better - I'm sure they would screw things up just as much (but they might not be so sanctimonious about it. I have little problem with politicians saying what they think might be the right approach, even if I disagree. Why is driving me away from the Republicans is the the notion that no-one has the right to any view not explicitly sanctioned by Bushco. Case in point, the howl last week that went up about Frist. Frist made a patently political move, but he is entitled to have an opinion that's not given to him by the White House. Or not.
It strikes me as particularly ridiculous that Judith Miller is in jail about a leak that came (by whatever means) from the White House.
