I found this article interesting.... any thoughts on Barr as Libertarian candidate?

i read about this the other day. i think barr has kind of a bad reputation though, so i don't see him pulling the same sort of thing nader did before.

but who knows...

I think that the author is right that Barr isn't likely to do much damage in the south, but the west could be interesting. I think Virginia and the Mountain West are the two places where this race will be won or lost, and if Barr draws even a sliver of votes away from McCain in Colorado and New Mexico, that could be really important.

I think its unwise to discount the sheer number of voters who detest the three in lead. I actually think that barr could have a huge impact in this election, especially if he added ron Paul as his running mate. That ticket would draw the 50% of democrats who say they won't vote D if their candidate isn't nominated. And enough conservatives are finding it hard to stomach mccain too. Barr/Paul would draw from both parties and could really shake things up in an interesting way.
