Since you asked...

It was fantastic to see Katie and Jordan (the boyfriend) this weekend. I really appreciate time with friends, especially during times where I am feeling caught up in my own self-centeredness - it forces me to live outside of myself, to just BE with people and not let my mundane routines and thought patterns dominate my moments ( Read more... )

I did ask, didn't I? pineapple_jack January 10 2007, 19:01:25 UTC
Does this mean I was the inspiration for your post? Am I the true audience? Do I get royalties if this post goes into syndication?

I am glad you had fun. Did you give them the drive-by tour of the university? Did I tell you that my advisor has a degree from Cornell? How come I've only written one sentence that ends with a period and not a question mark? Did you know that the British don't call it a "period" but an "end stop" and if it is at the absolute end of the piece of writing it is a "full stop?" Did you know that no one, anywhere, in any time, has named a piece of punctuation the "short stop?" Why do you think this is? Is it because it rhymes too well with "pork chop" and civilized man has been fighting for thousands of years against pork-rhymed punctuation?

Yes, yes you were my inspiration, as usual. No, no you do not get any money out of me, you beggary beggar.

I think Alice immed me about it too, but I deleted her window before I fully read what she wrote. You might call me trigger happy.

They got a sorta tour. Katie's done all that stuff before, and Jordan wasn't effusively interested in seeing campus. And I did NOT know that you're learning from one of the most highly educated people on this planet. (i.e. Cornell alum)

Yes, my friendship with Jordan has proved invaluable here at seminary...he provides hours of pleasant procrastination, which leaves me with half a day to finish four pages of one paper, the conclusion of another paper and study for a midterm at 9 a.m. tomorrow.

Fortunately, this situation doesn't bother me since all that time was spent so well!
