Well, I've heard a lot about him, and he seems interesting enough, and I need to read something like that, so it works out.

Dishdahes are the national dress of the UAE. They more or less look like nightgowns, but a lot more formal, and um, masculan, hahaha. Locals wear it all the time, but I just wear it for sleeping/home, cos, well, I'm not local. :P

I was about to ask as well, what the hell is a dishdash?

You watch ADCC? (Abu Dhabi Combat Club)?

Dishdashe explanation above^^

And, I don't watch the ADCC, although I think they're held in the club that I go to. Actually, I'm pretty sure they are.

Argh, I'd heard the explanation before when a POW held in Iraq had asked his wife to bring him one. I hate not remembering stuff I should know!

It's kinda ambiguous to me from reading your LJ...where are you originally from and what religion are you?

The club you go to hosts ADCC? You grapple? Does the Average UAE'r even know about ADCC?

Sorry for the questions, I'm way curious. :)

Well, each of my grandparents is a nationality, so along the line ive got Palestinian, Lebanese, Iraqi, and German blood in me. I was born in Kuwait and currently hold a Jordanian passport. I'm Christian.

Abu Dhabi's biggest combat club is part of the club I go to, and lots of fights etc are held there all the time, so I'm assuming the ADCC is also held there. I'll double check that, though.

The average UAE'r doesnt know about it, and had I not been a member of the club, I wouldn't have known about it either.

dishdashas are male dresses! hahaha

you know the Scots have the male skirts, people here have the male dresses. It's more like a long gown with pockets (90% of the time white or off white so it's so cool that he has a black one)

Sami, the gift list isn't over yet.

Yeah I know it isn't, I can't wait!

My dishdashes are black, and light blue. I need to get more. I've decided that's all I'm going to wear at home in 2005.
