Hahaha, it was honestly a good coupling! I never would've imagined 3 years ago that I could ever see them together. I would've been pretty revved up afterwards if I wasn't so tired.
I am glad you had fun! Though I have to say that Dir+Apocaliptica is a weird combo. "weave my head artfully around" is a hella amusing way to put it ;D I agree on the filming, never could see a point of so much filming either, nor ever actually bothered to watch those videos except a handful. Strange how some people are more concerned with proving their "been there done that" than the actual experience ;D I am actually almost glad it is forbidden in Japan.
lol, I thought it was a kind of strange combo, too-- even if they're both metal bands, they're still pretty different subgenres. But the vocalist from Evaline said they ended up being the opening act due to booking/agency connections so maybe that's what happened with Dir and Apo. I doubt the bands are actually friends or anything.
I really think the Japanese venues are right to ban cameras. And in general, I really like their concert system, like lining up by numbers and stuff. It's always so much more organised!
Aww, it sucks when the venue is a pile of crap and the techs sucks T___T And WHAT THE FUCK, PDA. Leave it at home, germ-swappers. But I'm that the bands were good (I wouldn't expect anything else) ^^;
Cameras are banned in America at most events, but the last time I saw Dir I think they allowed them and it was ridiculous :\
I don't think I'll ever go back this place again (both times I went I've not liked it), unless my favouritest band ever plays there.
I just don't understand PDA at a concert! Surely you're there to soak up the band's presence? Is your gf not annoyed at you for distracting her from the show? D: And I'm such a grinch about the camera thing, too. I didn't pay to see the show through 50 mini LCD screens.
Loved and enjoyed reading your report about Apocalyptica! :) I must admit that I'm not a huge fan of them, as in, I don't know and love every song (by heart), but I enjoy their music. And despite that I felt myself nodding and agreeing with certain things you said here, I also had to smile while reading it. Which surprised me a bit, 'cause like I said, I don't know them that well. *heh*
Thanks! I'm glad some of my feelings resonated with you. I liked Apocalyptica's older stuff better, to be honest, so I didn't know the new songs too well... but they just seem to be such nice and fun guys that it's hard not to like them. :D
