it's not a new country until i get sick

Turned out to be a disappointing day, as more snow fell (again) on London and a couple of airports shut down... meaning the guest we've been expecting has cancelled his trip because he's got no way to get here. That's sucky, but even worse is, once again, we are dealing with poor transport issues when I want to get out and enjoy the town ( Read more... )

OMG. YAY ABOUT THE JOB NEWS! I'LL BE EXCITED TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR KIDS AND WHAT ELSE YOU'RE UP TO.

I hope you feel better soon too. Can I persuade you to take pictures on your shopping/Dublin trips when (not if!) they happen?

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

:D yes, it's good to have that off my list of things to worry about for the new year.

I will take photos, but I need to figure out how to make my camera charger work here. Grr, the plugs here are shaped so ridiculously.

Awww thanks <3
I got myself a giant bratwurst, haha. Afterwards I went vintage-shopping a bit and got a pair of boots more suitable for the winter.

Congrats and YAY on your full-time position!

Boo on the airports and terrible transportation in "inclement weather."

YAY for Dublin!

Boo for sickness. I hope you are much better now.

YAY for great movies like "Apocaplypse Now" even though it's a very heavy film! Oh, I highly recommend "Black Swan," if it has arrived overseas. It's the latest Darren Aronofsky movie.

thanks so much! i'm really excited about the job. :)
unfortunately the transport issue has NOT improved... *weeps* read my latest entry for details about that. hope to get to dublin eventually.

apocalypse now was really amazing! it's actually one of those films that i've seen parodied 1000x, so practically every scene was like, "OH, so THAT'S where it's from". it sort of ruined the element of surprise, but made it enjoyable at the same time.

i'm interested in black swan, too. it's not out yet over here (except for a film festival release) until january 21 or something. i like aronofsky, but i'm kind EHHH on natalie portman, but i hope it turns out good in spite of that. :)
