Nothing lasts and all bands break up sooner or later, but it hurts nonetheless. And in their case it is all so much worse because of what happened to Hizumi.
all bands have to break up, but for d'espairsray, i always thought it'd be years and years into the future and never "now". they always had so much stamina. but i guess nobody foresaw hizumi's illness. to be honest, i'd rather have them quit while they're still ahead at their peaks than have them deteriorate/hizumi get worse. so, it's really sad, but in a way, it's the best way a band can break up.
This made me so sad, I've been trying to see them again. My last live I saw of them was 2008 ish in Tokyo, mirror era. Through their lives I have been able to meet lots of friends and they were always so energetic and fun. Like u said, hope hizumi recovers soon and we can be happy that they were a great band and were able to provide all of us some kind of joy through their creations. K done being cheesy haha
lol, i'm being cheesy and sappy in my head, too. i also met so many friends through them and had so many good times. right before they went on hiatus, they finally managed to make it to canada, and i was just so happy about that. i wish i saw them one last time, but really, i can't say i regret much.
I was at the Nagoya live during their [PIG]headed tour. I think we saw them together in Osaka at one point. I'm glad we all had the opportunity to see them when we did.
It looks like they have some gigs lined up already. I imagine Hizumi feels like a disabled athlete right now. I hope his condition gets better.
hmm, i don't think i saw them during the [PIG]headed tour; wasn't in japan during 2006. but i do remember the osaka gig we went to! it was really awesome-- as were most of their shows. i've never not had fun with them, and that's something i'm grateful for.
ameba is down atm, but i assume you mean the love parade gigs. :) i'm glad to hear about them, but i do feel really bad for hizumi. i hope he'll be able to stay in the business~ ;~;
it's kind of bizarre thinking of them working with other artists-- they've never once changed their lineup, or even really done session bands! (the only thing i can think of is waaaaay back when, i think hizumi and possibly karyu contributed to a phobia side-project or something.)
