I read the eArc, back when. John had a lot of fun with it. What's been really interesting is watching his scenario play out with the current solar cycle. One thing that's got a lot of people concerned is the very low number of new sunspots in the current cycle.

Let me re-phrase, I've read all the books currently publishes (in print-on-paper format) in all those other series, excepting the Princess of Wands series.
Could be, but there were comments, like the one about "the politics of personal destruction" that made me think Hillary. The timings not as good, in terms of election years and the candidate(s) age(s).
That's kind of a tradition in the genre, going back from Ringo and Kratman all the way back to Heinlein, and probably earlier. Some of them are better at carrying it off.
