ah ha! they were in the spam folder! which is odd, because i've used gmail for YEARS now and they have never gone to my spam folder before.

Who is your email provider? I had to switch a while back from hotmail to yahoo because my hotmail stopped getting my comments.

gmail. i've used it for years and they've never gone to spam before, but that's where they all were.

I have gmail too and I received comments all the time and then they just stopped for months, and then they just appeared again. I never thought to check spam, maybe that's where they went.
