I read 12 not 20, working in a shop that most likely has similar situations as the russian bear I understand it all too well. I very much doubt that LJ will go anywhere but should it I doubt I will find again a place that I connect with so well.

I can not see it getting shut down what will most likely happen they will sell it back to the people who invented it and they will buy it for pennies on the dollar and now turn it into something that makes them some money.

Same here. As a teacher, we are strongly discouraged from having a facebook or my space site due to precocious computer geeks who manage to always find teachers and get access to their sites. Not that I would ever put anything on there that I wouldn't do in front of my parents or children, but I just choose to use livejournal. It just seems more streamlined and less "frou frou" than the other two.

I, too, have My Face, I mean Spacebook... LiveFace? BookJournal? My Journal? Facebook! That's it! Though not from fear of losing this place... I just like it.

If this place collapses, I might be slightly annoyed, but... no, actually, I'd probably just say 'meh' and continue on my way...
