I think we are okay with the Southern trains - they come up from quite far away, I don't think that LT striking should prevent people from getting from [note to self: insert name of somewhere south of Croydon] to London Bridge so they should be stopping at the normal stations at least.

Well yes this was also my thinking but you never know how c0ckfarmery these things should get. Anyway, if the link below is correct and London Overground seems fine then it follows National Rail will be fine too. Thank goodness for my cheery "getting tubes in zone 1 is a mugs game" attitude anyway. Unless it's raining. In which case, er - wellies? Arks?

I always think I should get a boat when there's a tube strike... but then fail to get out of the house on time :(

Just go to the pub and it'll magically sort itself out by home time.

i was wondering about Overground as well, the TFL site is of pretty much no use at all...

...also i'm not entirely sure who is on strike. it may well be station staff rather than drivers...

I gathered station staff and drivers - drivers leaving from 5, station staff etc from 9? I think someone said that the other day but I might have been falling asleep in my lime and soda by that point so possibly nonsense!

It says the overground will be fine on the strike page: http://www.tfl.gov.uk/gettingaround/16570.aspx

Check your local train operating company website, but I believe it's just all tubes, but not trains.

Yeah, the worry was whether Overground counted as 'tube' and then would affect 'trains'...

Kew is overground is it? I dunno, the last time I went to Kew Gardens, buses became quite heavily featured and one of my main memories is of sitting on some grass, being very tired and needing to leave within about half an hour and wondering whether seeing some Hot Fauna was worth it. It was, but, ooof, I have not been back to that part of West London since!

(Unless you count Chiswick that one time, or er, when I went to Brentford, look it's all the same isn't it).
