I'm watching a show called Journeyman over on Hulu, and it's really good! Of course, it only aired one season before being canceled, but now I come to find that the guy behind it worked on both Sports Night and The West Wing

I knew from the first episode that "Journeyman" was going to die before the end of the season. It's that whole, "Oh, this show is awesome," thing. Anything I like either gets canceled or tries to appeal to a broader audience and turns for the suck (I'm looking at you, "Heroes").
Another doomed show that you'd like (campy and silly, but totally fun) is "The Middleman". Sadly, the show ran over the summer and has been put on "indefinite hiatus". Better than being canceled outright, but basically deceased.
To me, two exceptions to that rule are: Battlestar Galactica and Lost. Actually, How I Met Your Mother is pretty good at not turning to suck either, although I suppose comedies are in a different class.
I'll have to check out The Middleman, although I'd really like to hire someone to watch every show for me and point me at ones I'd like *While they're still on the air.* Perhaps when I'm a million-air.
i disagree, Its always sunny in philidelphia is super awesome & still on the air, as is house. I think its more that the shows that stay on stay on too long & start to suck hardcore, like smallville, or happy days
"Smallville" didn't take long to get into sucking. What, like half an episode?
"House" is still good, but "House" has the advantage of being able to follow a formula. "House" runs the same episode again and again, at least in terms of major plot points and pacing. It's a damn good episode, and it's always tightly scripted with sharp dialogue. But it's definitely got a formula. It's like the entire CSI family of shows (it follows the same formula too).
Oh, atomox, that reminds me. Another show I like that's new this season is "The Mentalist". Another crime show, with the gimmick of a reformed psychic renouncing the act and hooking up with the cops (and using cold reading and other mentalist type tricks to solve crime).
