Okay, in canon there are ~songstresses~ all around the Kingdom. And there is this whole mythological thing about how they sing every night and this somehow protects/bolsters the Kingdom - and a lot of warbling about the Songstress:King companionship and counterpart. And yet canon never actually decides to tell us what this is! We do know ( Read more... )

Luffy's voice is kind of whiny, but he's not a bad singer! It's just. Very old-school Japanese enka style. Link! Luffy's also loud! And shares a voice actress with someone in camp (drag_on_lady).

Sokka's voice still cracks. :')

And Silver has a really super obvious pirate-y accent, BUT ANYBODY CAN TELL THAT. It's muddled from moving around the galaxy his whole life.

Sheryl has alien bug bacteria living in her brain that makes her voice a) communicate via an intergalactic nerve network and b) bend laws of time and space to be heard by anything that can pick up fold waves. Measurable by science.

Oh, wait.

She's also the granddaughter/grandniece of two priestesses from the Pacific island of "Maya," one of whom was the "Voice of the Wind" and could lift rocks and bring plants back to life with her song.

Miyako is an unexpectedly good singer, enough that her friends joke about her going pro. Nothing super-special, though!

Death's voice goes straight to your brain, and he can command people with it if he wants to. It's been described in canon as "a voice with all the warmth and colour of an iceberg", "like an anvil being hit with a small lead hammer", "as hollow as a cave, as dense as a neutron star", "like the collapse of undersea chasms", "like the closing of crypt doors"... Okay, I'm going to stop here before I c/p half the Discworld series.

Also I have links to voice actors/actresses on this info page.

Temeraire, besides being so loud that his whispers are clearly audible from like 20 feet away, has the divine wind. It's a roar that can produce exceedingly powerful sound waves capable of breaking stone cliffs, causing internal hemorrhaging at close range, and a whole mess of shock wave fun. A "feel" of it is detectable in his normal roars and it's enough to make people and dragons, even ones who have never seen the divine wind, nervous. SO BASICALLY his super-special hearing might notice something when he talks.
