Go to Kotzebue! I think it'll be a really cool experience. Don't let the cons put you off - it's only temporary.
In other words, I wish I could tell you that you deciphered my blog post correctly and that I'm in the USA - I'd love to be, but I'm not. I'm working fulltime at home in Malmö, have bought an apartment by the sea and am actually enjoying normal, sedentary life. A few weeks back I bought a ticket to go to China this summer, but 1) it's too soon to tell if I'll even be able to afford to go, and 2) right now I'm hardly in the mood for traveling at all, so we'll see what happens...
I almost did... but then I e-mailed this guy who'd been working on creating a job for me a few months ago, just letting him know that I've got to choose, was he serious about that job, etc. He e-mailed me back the same day with this big long letter and basically wooed me into accepting his offer. So I'm working for a botanist in SE Alaska this summer, there are a lot of cool benefits, I'm pretty excited.
Yes, oops, I realized a couple minutes after I posted that you were writing about a book and not yourself, felt like a dork, but didn't want to clutter your journal with comments. So - it sounds quite lovely, to live by the sea and feel settled for a while. What happened with school in Australia? I hope you're having fun and feeling happy, wherever you are. :)
