It's on Sky One... I'm now spending all my Sunday nights at Chris's... for the next few weeks...
It's been two Sundays of two hours each time (so last night was episode 3 & 4), but I'm not sure if this is going to be the case until the end.

However, as in my case, she's not locked onto 24 despite a few minutes effort.

I think (like me) she doesn't click with US progs.
Just never got the bug about Taxi, Friends, 24, Lost, Golden Girls, whatever...

It's not an unhealthy fixation!!! And 24 is not just down to him. It's a great show.
There are some good US shows on TV, but I limit myself to 24, CSI when I catch it, and I've started to really like Scrubs. I'm a bit behind on the trend with this one, but it's full of witty, very funny one-liners, generally put-downs.

There are plenty of things to keep me busy in the evenings for me to sit in front of the TV all night. Thank goodness.

Which Taxi is that you're referring to? Not the remake of the french films, right?

No, the sit-com. A bit like Cheers, but set in a taxi-cab office.
IIRC Danny De Vito was in it? Dunno. I just can't get into anything particularily american; it's not a xenophobic thing. I used to watch the odd episode of Roseanne years ago, and that was as low-brow as you can get. There's a connection with Scrubs in that one of the "daughters" is in both.

That's right. The blonde daughter is in Scrubs. It's not dissimilar to the Green Wing in the way it's shot/edited. It's also very sarcastic, un-pc in many ways, which is probably why I like it.
I've never seen Taxi. Sounds like I haven't missed much.
They did murder the remake of Taxi the movie though. And that was a tough one since the original was far from being high-brow to start with, but at least it was funnier.
