Knitting vs. Crocheting

Dec 16, 2008 22:50

Joss Whedon on Crafts and Craftiness:

"It's an age-old war. Like the werewolves and the vampires. I think Underworld was actually originally about crocheters and knitters but they thought it would be too controversial so they changed it to vampires and werewolves."

I fixed the link to the article, but I think their database is down at the moment (which with all the weather and outages wouldn't shock me).

You knit. I (occasionally) have been known to crochet. Smackdown in 2009.

However, I think true evil lies in tatting.

I saw this before - but it still makes me giggle!

JW: Obviously decoupaging is too racy for Fox. So, I mean, they couldn't allow that.

KW: There's whoops and cheers from decoupagers everywhere now.

JW: It's just Standards and Practices, they draw the line at this kind of thing.

Give me a call when the snow clears and the ice melts. I'd hat to think of you doing your road worrier thing in this weather! Jon(20) has declared an end to my "stupid Self-Imposed isolation". I hate it when my kids try to boss me around!

Take care!

Hee!

I was just thinking today that when the snows melt I need to make my trip through your neck of the state. Right now I tend to stay on the interstate -- they tend to keep that cleared.

And good for Jon!

So after I got to dreaming about Changs - I called and ordered take out. They said 25 minutes (it's less than a mile away) - but I knew traffic would be back so I headed out. 45 minutes later not only could I not find a parking place (even down by NCG), but the parking lot was a death trap - people driving like their lives depended on finding a place. So I called them, said sorry, and headed home.

Instead? A handfull of "sociable" cackers and an Arizona Ice Tea (Arnold Palmer). Probably a better choice!!

Take care!! - N
