I adore and despair of your Ellen, as she deserves. She is so terrible at real life and responsibilities. Her father's funeral, oh, Ellen -- of course she'd be without recourse.

I feel terrible for her sister, but then I always have.

Oliver's faith in her and his surprise "reading" are deeply heartwarming, even as she tells him to fuck off repeatedly. He trusts her abilities no end, enough to throw her into this mad situation across from Geoffrey.

Geoffrey, through Ellen's eyes, is just as madcap and incandescent as he should be. I can see her falling for him, just as hard as Juliet, even in the bits that are supposedly Ellen not acting that role.

The ending has left me believing more strongly in the three of them and their evanescent moments of joy than I have in a long time. Yes, this, this could have been how it went, and how desperately they all loved and needed each other. Lovely, just lovely.

Thank you! Ellen is... yeah, I am not even sure, but I love her and she drives me absolutely crazy and I'm really glad you enjoyed this. It kind of ate my brain. :)

Yay! New S&A fic! It seems to be having a mini-renaissance, so yay. And your version of Geoffrey and Ellen's first meeting has some similarities to my personal canon about them. Namely, that they met as leads in R&J, courtesy of a manipulative Oliver. I have a long-unfinished fic about that gathering dust on my hard drive.

I also love that you paid so much attention to Oliver and Ellen's relationship, which is a big fannish love of mine.

Eeee, thank you so much! I'm glad you liked it. I only found S&A in... November, I think? So I am late to the party but man, it is a great party.

THis is so amazing. The scene in the theater has to be my favorite just because the intensity of it and how much Ellen didn't want to be doing it but loved it is to me the essence of the show's relationship with acting, so that was perfect. The whole thing was just fantastic though, and very in character. Although you mentioned Cymbeline, which should be a capital offense and the awesomeness of this is the only thing stopping me form doing something bad, that fucking play is evil.

...sorry I really don't have a good relationship with that play. But I love this fic so much.

Well, I'm very glad you enjoyed it, despite the mention of your hated play. Thanks for reading. :)

Oh, oh, absolutely lovely. I completely believe that this is what happened and your characterization is brilliant and the whirlwind of Geoffrey and Ellen is just perfect. Bravo!
