You know, considering the size of the buildings Big Mommy isn't particularly big...she's large, yes, but not a completely outlandish creature. It's her frame that makes her seem big but to me she appeared to be made out of legs

As long as it's light, I think I can manage it. Though I'm loath to say it I'm a ranged fighter at heart, but until I'm in top shape I'm going to need to learn melee. And I'm not about to watch from the sidelines.

It's pretty light, and you don't need to get that close. Now, admittedly, it's meant to incapacitate rather than kill, but it would buy you enough time to run away.

Try a spear or a similiar weapon? It's light and if it snaps you can use the ends. ...you're powerless right now?
