~first leaf~

tree leaves fall
onto a ground already covered
with the layers of years

imagine if we dug down
through the layers of brown
until we found
the first leaf
fallen

Strangely, slowly, I am beginning to rediscover confidence in myself, my decisions and my choices.  What I decide is right for me and I know I will make these decisions along good ethical lines.  Also, that if you think you are confident then you are confident.  Simple to write, difficult to put in practice.
