I heard a great one today; mother talking to her 2.75-year-old

"[child's name]!! Don't be so bossy!"

Wonder where she got that one from?

Amusing but there isn't a parent alive who hasn't said something equally silly at least once.

Yeah, perhaps I shouldn't be so judgemental. I think that this specific incident is just another indication of the way that children are regularly treated in our society and further proof of how little most parents understand them.

I just wish it would be an easily fixed problem, but we can't exactly stick everyone in parenting classes - that would be all manner of bad.
