Hell yes, last night was our triumphant return playing to a room that isn't a) comprised of my mates and pets and b) is more than a handful of surprised people at the Harp. Had a few moments of spoiling over the last few in honour of my birthday tomorrow. Big hoorah to my brother, Win, and Nate for having a slightly terrifying dinner party, complete with slide show full of photographic evidence of my most less-than-glamourous moments. Things with the album are coming along as expected and we have a meeting later this week with our Capitol reps to give them an almost-but-not-quite-done preview and to set a release date. They're angling for near Christmas, but for us to sit on this album for so long when it will (ideally) be done in the next 6 weeks or so is a tall order for this ( Read more... )

Sometimes it feels like time moves in waves. For an indeterminable span of time it seems to move at a glacial pace. Days feeling like weeks, weeks like months, etc. Then, as quickly as a new day starting, things seem to pick up at a double timed pace. That was not exactly the relaxing trip I'd had in mind to see Mrs. M and have some time to play in Australia. I don't wish I hadn't asked Seb to book the gig, but a small part of me wishes I could have taken the good (A night off with Joe in a gorgeous hotel, baby koalas) and left the bad (everything else).
