Just because you're not doing what everyone else is doesn't mean you're doing it wrong. In my opinion, it means you're doing something right. Imagine being a husband and a father because someone told you to. That would take a lot of beer my friend.

We are too close to ourselves sometimes to do much good. :)

...ain't that the way it always goes? ;) That's what friends are for - to provide you with clarity, a little bit of honesty. Most often in a "do-these-pants-make-my-but-look-big?" manner, but I've found really good friends are also adept at life perspective, if given the chance.

Friends are also good for that spot in the middle of our backs which we can't reach to scratch no matter how hard we try.

I hate to have to say this, but you're a therapist, you know it's good advice.
