An ocean wave or the ocean. Not only was my mom's ashes put there, but there are few things which command as much respect or refect change as well as the ocean. Gotta keep on your toes.

I need to just call you once every three or four days, say TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! and hang up.

hmm... i'm really fishing for ideas for a tattoo to be completely honest, but I'm finding my curiosity about what images people find powerful/meaningful cresting again. I think I was not ready to make that kind of choice when I had tattoo artists around that I knew personally but now i'm feeling a bit more comfortable with the kind of commitment to some permanently stained abrasions.

I would not personally get the tri-snakes as it is... but now a tribal of the tri-snakes consuming each other... life feeds on life and all... thats not a bad idea, but not one I feel I need to be reminded of personally

Honestly, not sure. If I had a symbol that I felt so powerful about I'd probably have it tatooed on me already.

I feel pretty strongly about the yin-yang concept, but I think getting it tatooed on me would be pretty hokey. Same with the ankh.

Not only does a symbol have to be powerful to me, but it has to be personal in some way as well. Neither of those two are personal at all.

I have some personal connection with the concept of yin-yang that I have considered the need to put on myself but not as a yin-yang per se. I saw a stylised abstract dragon pursuing a tiger that had appeal... but rather cliche I think even as it was. Still... powerful symbols tend to be powerful because they are so common that they are dangerously close to being cliche anyhow. I have several friends with ankhs tattooed on them... and I don't hate all of them. The ones that I like have personal explanations for them. I do think that is fairly key.
I hate the idea of getting a tattoo from flash... if you don't get a tattoo artist that can design something individual for you I don't see the point. Design ideas are good, bringing in a design to have copied onto your body... eh... not so much

But of course! *is the tattooed lady*

The Venn diagram is my heart on my sleeve, a reminder that, as Nicole Blackman wrote, "...being a loving person means sometimes getting your heart broken.", but oh! It's always worth it.

My planned back tattoo incorporated an ouroboros and a circle, two symbols that have traditionally represented the cyclical nature of life. Right now, those are very powerful ideas for me and I want to carry them with me forever.

The tree of life on my lower back is still an interesting thought for me, but if I can't seem to set the time and money aside to do it, maybe it's not THAT good.

I have plotted for a while not to place old map style x and the words you are here on my foot. Some times I need a reminder so I can relax and enjoy things.
